Change dimensions, post-creation

I have found that for objects (such as tree trunks, etc) I am able to directly enter the desired dimensions. For lines and areas, however, I must rely on my superior mousing skills to draw the line just the length that I want. Is there a way to click on a wall/line and directly enter the desired length?

As a follow-up, it would be very nice to be able to reference objects off of other objects (using the dimensioning tool).

You are right, it would be nice to change the dimensions of lines and areas in some kind of numerical way. We are thinking about how we can add this to a new release of the application. Thank you for your suggestions.
